CFC Forestation Program China & Mongolia
About This Project
This program promotes bio diversity and sustainable forest management in China and Mongolia. By planting multiple tree species, biodiversity is restored. After planting, human intervention is kept to a minimum to preserve the natural environment.
Purpose
Forest restoration, biodiversity recovery, village beautification
Biodiversity and CO2 removal
Trees remove carbon dioxide through photosynthesis and store it as organic carbon within their bodies.
Economic and Disaster Prevention
Providing employment opportunities in seedling nursery and forest management, and eco tourism bring economic benefits to the region. It enhances disaster prevention functions through forests' soil erosion control and flood prevention effects.
Activities
Nursery and Tree Planting
Nursery stock suited to the region are grown for several years. Once the seedlings are mature, we clear the undergrowth at the planting site and plant the seedlings. We manage forests and maintain their natural state.
Tourism and Educational Purposes
Forests offer recreational benefits through seasonal landscape changes and the air-purifying effects of trees. This project utilizes forests as tourism resources for ecotourism and educational programs.
