CFC Forestation Program Japan
About This Project
This program promotes sustainable forest management in six locations across Japan. The forests has been sustainable by preserving the ecosystem and sustainable forests provide a habitat for flora and fauna.
Purpose
Forest restoration, CO2 absorption
Biodiversity and CO2 removal
Trees remove carbon dioxide through photosynthesis and store it as organic carbon within their bodies.
Economic and Disaster Prevention
Supplying wood and wood products, and developing forests as tourism resources, brings economic benefits to the region. It enhances disaster prevention functions through forests' soil erosion control and flood prevention effects.
Activities
Nursery and Tree Planting
Nursery stock suited to the region are grown for several years. Once the seedlings are mature, we clear the undergrowth at the planting site and plant the seedlings. We cultivate the trees while performing thinning and pruning to prevent forest overcrowding.
Tourism and Educational Purposes
Forests offer recreational benefits through seasonal landscape changes and the air-purifying effects of trees. This project utilizes forests as tourism resources for ecotourism and educational programs.
